With Oscar Weekend approaching, it is time for me to give my predictions. The complete list of nominations is available on the web site of the Awards (click here). Without further ado, here are the predictions:

Best Picture

Nominations: American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Dallas Buyers Club, Gravity, Her, Nebraska, Philomena, 12 Years a Slave, and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Although 12 Years a Slave is very popular in this year’s awards ceremonies, I believe that the Best Picture award will go to Captain Phillips. A serious contender would be Gravity.

Actor in a Leading Role

Nominations: Christian Bale (American Hustle), Bruce Dern (Nebraska), Leonardo DiCaprio (The Wolf of Wall Street), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club)
