A classic film that stands the test of time. It is a timeless weepie. Other films that have come close to this are The Lion King and Aladdin. In 1948 at the Golden Globe Awards Walt Disney got a special award for ‘furthering the influence of the screen’. When this film first came out in 1942 it had glowing reviews although it was a  box office disappointment. One film critic wrote ‘Arguably Disney’s greatest masterpiece, this sophisticated animation is one that continues to delight audiences of all ages’
